GROTU – FAQ 

WHAT CAN GROTU DO FOR YOU?
 

GROTU is a feature rich mobile app for Group Travel and Events Planning. GROTU app has 6 major modules on home screen that relate to 4 distinct feature sets and several functions within those major feature sets including an ability to search and filter a list of records. GROTU app's patented integrated design saves time and money by storing data in cloud which is easy to reach by clicking on specific module. Even the comments are organized by events. (Example: If you invite a group of friends for a Potluck party, you can go to that specific module in the app and click on event and see all responses from your friends including what items they are bringing and discussion specific to that event. No need to search through tons of chat data to find useful information). So lets Explore major modules of GROTU app:


A.    Create New Trip Survey
i.    This module lets users create a Trip survey from questions and answers provided by the App, add additional survey choices including questions and answers and invite a group of friends to pick the choices that suit them best including but not limited to: Travel destinations, Dates, who to take on trip, Preferred transportation, Trip length, Stay Preferences, Preferred activities and excursions. The module is customizable and scalable with Mobile friendly User Experience!
ii.    Users can send Survey invitations to friends using Phone contacts, Emails and Telephone numbers.

 

B.    View Trips
i.    This module lets you view and respond to the Trip surveys you created, as well as Trip survey invitations you received from your friends. You can view Group survey results presented as colorful Pie charts and Bar charts. This helps users and their friends arrive at a consensus on Group Travel they are planning.
ii.    Group members can also post comments and see a list of invited members and their comments and suggestions.

 

C.    Potluck, Party, Event Planner
i.    When you open the module, you will see a list of Event Invitations you have created and sent to friends, as well as a list of events you have received invitations to. You can view and respond to an event invitation specifying if you will attend it including number of adults and kids attending, and selecting any Potluck items or responsibilities you will share. You can also post comments for invited members and the event host. 
ii.    Event Invitation - This module lets you create Invitations to events where you can select the type of event (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Sports Meet, Picnic, Game night etc.), specify date, time, address and invite a group of friends using Phone contacts, Emails and Telephone numbers.
iii.    Potluck Invitation – When you want to invite a group of friends for a Potluck style meet where different people can pick from a list of food items, drinks, games or take on other responsibilities for the event like decorations, booking venue, arrange music, clicking photos etc., you can specify the list of items to be brought and any shared responsibilities for the group. All invited members can pick from the list and see what others have picked. This makes life easier for whole group as they can share the event responsibilities.

 

D.    Create New Expense Report
i.    This module lets you keep track of Group expenses when you are traveling, or any other time you and your friends spend money where one friend pays and others participate in the expense to be shared equally. (Example – You go on dinner with a group of 10 friends and do not want to hand out multiple credit cards to restaurant. Instead, one of the friends pays the bill and uses GROTU app to create Expense report and enter an Expense entry with date, amount, description, payer, and participants sharing the expense). You can also click a photo of Expense receipt and add to the Expense details accessible to all members.
ii.    Friends can choose not to settle the Expenses and carry on a ledger balance adding future expenses while the App maintains an account in Cloud storage.
iii.    GROTU app allows you to import a list of participants from any previously created Trip survey or Event directly into an Expense report so you do not have to invite members by entering Phone numbers or email addresses again. Alternatively, you can invite a group of friends using Phone contacts, Emails and Telephone numbers. 

 

E.    View Expense Reports
i.    This module lists all Expense reports you created or were invited to participate in. 
ii.    You can View Expense Summary detailing all expenses, receipts (images) and participants in each expense. 
iii.    You can also add one or more Expense entries into the Expense report specifying expense date, payer, amount, description, receipt image and selecting participants to divide amongst.
iv.    Expense summary also details the settlement amounts between Expense participants and lets them specify if they have paid the amount so re-adjustment of balances can occur. 
v.    GROTU app lets users specify their preferred payment collection method in Account settings (Example – https://paypal.me/SunmeetJolly, Email or Phone number). This is available to all payers who want to send money to their friends using the collection method specified by user. GROTU app does not process payments through the app. It only lets you share information with friends on how they would like to get paid (outside the app). You can also settle with a friend by paying cash and click “PAID” corresponding to your settlement so app can re-adjust settlement balances between members.

 

F.    Group Photo Organizer
i.    This module lets you Create Galleries of photos and share them with friends and family. (Example – “Alaska Trip, July 2017” gallery can have all your photos from that Alaska trip contributed by friends and yourself along with any links to external websites where your friends or you may have chosen to store additional photos). 
ii.    You can upload Photos to a Gallery, as well as Hyperlinks to external websites where your photos maybe stored (Example- Google Drive, Dropbox, Facebook album etc.)
iii.    Just like other integrated features of the GROTU app, you can import a list of participants from a Trip survey or Event to add to a Photo Gallery using simple dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can invite a group of friends using Phone contacts, Emails and Telephone numbers.
iv.    Friends you invite to a Photo Gallery can view, share and upload photos to the gallery. They cannot delete any photos uploaded by other members.
v.    Gallery creation and deletion is only available to members who upgraded GROTU app to GROTU Photo Premium version. They can invite their friends to participate in the gallery subject to storage limitations of GROTU Photo Premium account.
vi.    GROTU Photo Premium account holders can create multiple galleries and invite different set of participants for each gallery, only subject to total storage allocation of the account tier they upgraded to.
